Empathy is a noun and to lead is a verb. In acting classes we used to practice active verbs, actionable verbs to build a strong character, and at samunakc.com, we practice actionable steps to build a strong personal brand and business.
When I was a director, producer and an acting instructor, I used to say, “I can teach acting to even a piece of wood”, because I always believe acting is a learnable skill, dedication being a prerequisite.
I used to say, “Acting is the most sophisticated form of communication, learn it to discover and build your personal brand”
I found the word acting slightly off-putting , “do I act my way to building my persona; brand?” Do I believe in “Fake it until you make it?” No, I don’t. (pause) I am living my truth every moment in my journey.
However, I believe acting is the most sophisticated art form, and it helped me to connect and communicate with others. And I Am not faking while doing so, I am not acting. I am genuinely interested in people, I listen, I am vulnerable and it shows on my voice and face and I sometimes can physically feel the pain of another person. That makes me an excellent actor, NO!
