Well can you?
idk. Based on my experiences with people who never prepped, all it really takes is a goal and maybe, just maybe a little bit of a "mind game" to get you into it all, ALL BY YOURSELF, without anyone "talking you into it".
In this podcast I had a bit of a flashback to a mate from up Sydney, back in the day, who was just like me, just not as good looking of course. City kid, from the suburbs of a big city with everything taken care of in some way or another. Life was way too good.
However, then he met me and life, well, let's just say, he never knew what stubborn was before that.
Although I can't compare the know how from today and back then, the experience I shared here was a legit experience, somewhat "financially" based in motives. Namely, the idea of "prepping" was not all about "surviving the bad times", it was in part that, without the idea of it actually happening during our life time. It was in a huge way based on "saving money" as a little fringe benefit to prepping.
Just saying it as it is. Won't say that it was all about "Armageddon", although life in those years was heavily revolving around what amIgeddin when I go out. (OK, ok, joke. Had to, couldn't resist.)
Didn't see too many people smiling at the thought of not having toilet paper after a #2.
So yeah, you all have a good one, hope this sharing of experiences from the not to distant past gets you thinking about things, no matter if you are prepping or if there is someone out there who you wish to get into it all. The more the merrier.
Stay safe,
God bless,
