Abraham would have passed by this gate when he entered the land of Canaan. The city gate in Dan, Israel from about 1750 BC. Previously known as Laish (Judges 18:7, 14, 27–29) and Leshem (Joshua 19:47). This gate system with its two towers on both sides of the entrance arch was built by the Canaanites of that time period.
