In July, U.S. Congressional Representatives Tom Tiffany and Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin, along with Michelle Fischbach, Brad Finstad, Pete Stauber and Tom Emmer of Minnesota – all Republicans – co-signed an angry letter to the Canadian Embassy, demanding that Canada get their wildfires under control. 2025 has proven to be the second-worst fire season in Canadian history, behind 2023’s record-breaking year. Natural Resources Canada reports that more than 72,000 square kilometers have burned so far this year, an area equivalent to the U.S. state of South Carolina. Richard Carr is a wildlife scientist with Natural Resources Canada, and he joined the Monday Buzz on September 8, 2025.
