Anyone who has had someone close to them receive a cancer diagnosis, which is unfortunately most of us, knows how distressing it can be. But what's the proper response? Do you turn inward and keep it a secret? Or are you supposed to rely entirely on others? Luckily I have a couple of experts today with knowledge from both the diagnosed and the caregiver sides to help us figure it out.
Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.
My guests today are Nancy Rugart Plummer and Robert Rugart. This mother and son duo have almost over a half dozen experiences with severe cancers in their family, with Nancy being one of the only people to have survived Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and Metastatic Brain Cancer in the world.
Let's not just win, but conquer.
I know episodes with these topics can be hard for some to listen through. Hell, I've had good friends tell me they just won't listen to certain episodes because of the content. And that's understandable, but I hope those of you who did listen could tell that this was nowhere near the doom and gloom that occupies the treatment space sometimes. It was a lot of laughs, with a couple great people, and we crammed a lot of learning into a three-quarter hour segment.
Lastly, it's the end of October and rankings are as follows:
That's it for this week! Have a great weekend, a spooky Halloween, and I'll see you all back here for the next episode!
