DMV Spotlight shines a light on support for cancer patients in the DC Metro area. Cancer Support Community, Washington DC is part of a global network that connects cancer patients with services, counseling and assistance across the DC Metro area.  Executive Director for Cancer Support Community, Washington DC Zubair Ansari, explains the services that are available, not only for patients but also for family members, community members and caregivers. Ansari explains patients get referrals from Oncologists and various medical professionals.

Ansari also illuminates the health disparities in treatment for cancer patients in the DC area, noting that cancer mortality rates in Wards 7 and 8 are among the highest in the nation.
