Kris Kewitsch is the executive director of the Charities Review Council, and was one of the very first guests on the Next in Nonprofits podcast back in 2015! The Charities Review Council’s mission is “building donor and nonprofit relationships for strong, vibrant and just communities.”

Kris joins host Steve Boland to talk about the recently announced merger creating Candid, a new organization from the Foundation Center and Guidestar. There is no projected immediate change in operations of the two large-scale nonprofit support organizations, but the merger will bring changes over time to how these types of services are provided to the nonprofit sector. Kris talks about how the work of the Charities Review Council impacts her thinking about these different organizations, how charities may consider the impact of this news, and whether we may get a range of yet-unknown services from these two large data sets and histories.
