Hold 'em Accountable

Candidate Interview: William Kory Amyx

Listen Later

In this episode of Hold 'em Accountable, I sit down with Kory Amyx, a Democratic candidate running for U.S. Congress in Indiana’s 6th Congressional District (IN-06). This district stretches from the south side of Indianapolis through Greenwood and Columbus and across East Central Indiana communities like Rushville and Richmond, representing a mix of suburban growth, manufacturing powerhouses, and rural communities.

During our conversation, we dive into the real issues that Hoosiers across the district are talking about right now: rising healthcare costs, wage stagnation, rural economic development, manufacturing jobs, small business growth, broadband expansion, and workforce training. Amyx explains how his economic plan aims to strengthen both fast-growing suburbs like Greenwood and industrial hubs like Columbus, while ensuring smaller communities don’t get left behind.

We also discuss Medicare for All, rural hospital funding, mental health services, workforce development, infrastructure investment, and the future of American manufacturing. Amyx argues that federal policy must prioritize working families, small businesses, and local economies instead of corporate monopolies and political gamesmanship.

Another key focus of the interview is how a candidate can represent a deeply conservative district while still advocating for policies focused on wages, healthcare access, economic opportunity, and infrastructure investment.

If you follow Indiana politics, U.S. elections, congressional races, rural policy, manufacturing policy, or economic issues affecting working-class families, this interview gives you a direct look at one of the candidates seeking to represent Indiana’s 6th District in Congress.
