Definitions:
- Cannabinoids, Like Cannabis is an umbrella to Phyto and Endo
- Phytocannabinoids

Popular PhytoCannabinoids and What they do:
- CBD: anti-inflammatory, pain management, stress reducer
- THC: pain, nausea, stress disorders, can cause anxiety and paranoia
- CBN: relaxation, helps with insomnia disorders
- CBG: awake and alert, brain cell stimulant, anti-proliferative, anti-bacterial
- CBC: potent anti-inflammatory, assists digestive and gastrointestinal disorders, potentially contribute toward the regeneration of brain cells
- THCv: holds appetite suppressing value, good for those who have high blood sugar
It is also worth mentioning that the carbolic acids that break off when decarboxylating cannabis also have medicinal properties as well. Think eating the raw flower would be like eating a superfood vegetable.
Known Endocannabinoids
Endocannabinoid System
- CB1 Receptors: binds primarily in to the brain and nervous system
- CB2 Receptors: binds primarily to the immune system
Entourage Effect
That’s where the “Entourage Effect comes into play. For example: If taking THC with CBD, the CBD’s “stress reducing” qualities will actually counteract the psycho activie “paranoia” of the THC, while the THC still helps with pain and nausea.
Taking a lot of CBD can help with pain management, but some people can get a “buzz” off of too much CBD, meaning, their “creative receptors” in the brain are firing in all different directions. THC can counteract that effect but still leave the pain management qualities intact. So when thinking cannabis, think “Balance”.
And that’s what it’s all about, balance. Finding balance in what’s important. I think eating healthy is an important ingredient to living a long life, but I also think eating hamburgers with blue cheese, guacamole and bacon is good every once in a while to enjoy my life as well...balance.
