Today you’ll meet Shelly McKay, a cannabis trailblazer from the OC and the co-founder of Kannabis Works in Santa Ana, CA. Shelly is a Certified Cannabis Specialist and proud member of OC Norml, the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, and Americans for Safe Access. She’s taught online and in-person courses and is passionate about cannabis education - You’re going to LEARN today ladies!
What separates Kannabis Works from other dispensaries is that they are medically-minded with a huge focus on cannabis wellness. Shelly’s goal is to provide physicians and their patient’s treatment options with cannabis to fill the gap between big pharma and homeopathic options. It is her mission to change the narrative of the healthcare industry to remove the negative public stigma around cannabis, and she’s making incredible progress to that end. Biggest challenges to providing safe access to clean cannabis? Over-regulation and the booming unlicensed market, which you’ll learn all about in this episode (you might want to take notes, I did!).
