Discussion Questions:

1. Chapter 16 is a low point in the life of Abram and Sarai. Where do we see the grace of God in the midst of such broken relationships?
2. Chapter 17 introduces the sign of circumcision in to the covenant between God and His people. Looking at Deuteronomy 10:15-16 and Romans 2:28-29, to what is circumcision meant to point towards?
3. In chapter 18 we see Abraham have spent a lot of time meeting with God in various settings. First over a meal at Abraham's tent and then next on a hill top over looking Sodom and Gomorrah. How do you see the character of God in each scene contrasted with the character of Abraham and Sarai?
4. What similarities do you see between the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the story of Noah and the Flood?
5. How do we see God's grace in the midst of His judgement in chapter 19?
6. Chapter 19 does not end in a hopeful way. How does this passage warn us against the corrupting influence of sin? What might have been a more Godly approach to their seemingly hopeless situation? How might we do something similar by trying to solve or fix our unwanted life circumstances ourselves?
