1. Genesis 20 is a repeat event. Compare and contrast the first time Abraham gives his wife away in Genesis 12:10-20 and this similar event in Genesis 20. What similarities and differences do you note?
2. What do you make of Sarah's words in 21:6 given that the same word is used a few verses later to imply mockery?
3. How do we see God's protection and provision for Hagar and Ishmael once again?
4. What do you make of God's request to Abraham to sacrifice his son? What are some of the challenges you might find with this story?
5. List all the ways in which you see the story of Jesus' death and resurrection echo this story in Genesis 22.
6. What are the things in our lives that are most precious to us? Do you trust God to do with them what is best?
