Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM Lens

Listen Later

If you are looking to own a very lightweight camera lens with solid build quality and sturdy glass, the Canon EF 70 to 200-millimeter f/4.0L UltraSonic Motor Lens is exactly what you are looking for. This lens has a fast and quiet autofocus due to its UltraSonic Motor, and it is a great price for a beginner zoom lens while it still maintains a professional appeal to seasoned photographers. The EF 70 to 200-millimeter f/4.0L does not have an image stabilizer, so a tripod may be best to use rather than going handheld to ensure the lens stays still. If there is good lighting for your shots, however, there should be no issue considering the lens handles no image stabilization fine at 200 millimeters.
The quality of the photos with the EF 70 to 200-millimeter lens is very sharp, with bright colors and great contrast. If you are at a distance and need to zoom in, the lens stays at whatever focal length you set it at, meaning it won't get longer in order to zoom in. Blurring in the background can occur with the aperture, however, the subject of the photograph will always remain sharp. While the lens may be a little long for some photographer's preferences, it is great at maintaining sharp quality with shallow depth of field at longer focal lengths. It also has minimal vignette shading around the edges of photographs, and vignette shading can be fixed in post processing if any does occur. Overall, the Canon EF 70 to 200-millimeter f/4.0L UltraSonic Motor Lens is a great zoom lens and may require some knowledge when it comes to focal lengths, but will work for a beginner just fine.
