Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM Lens

Listen Later

The Canon EF-M 32-millimeter f/1.4 Stepper Motor Lens is the third prime lens for the EF-M mount, and it is compact in size, but has a sturdy weight to it. This lens is versatile, but wildlife photographers will most likely appreciate its features the most. Regardless of which type of photographer may like it more, the autofocus feature's speed is fast and decisive. If a subject is standing too close to the camera, however, the autofocus will take a moment or two to properly focus, but it has no problem focusing with subjects at least an arms-length away. Manual focus is also a feature of the Canon EF-M 32-millimeter lens, and its focus ring is sturdy and has a large angle of rotation, allowing for adjustments to be smooth. The Stepper Motor allows for smooth and quiet focusing for stills, and then near silent capture for videos.
Image quality with the Canon EF-M 32-millimeter f/1.4 Stepper Motor Lens is high, and corner-to-corner sharpness is excellent. Even when the lens is wide open, images appear very sharp. In some instances, a little bit of barrel distortion can occur when architectural shots with horizontal details are captured. Images shot at wide apertures can also show some lateral chromatic aberrations, however, distortions and chromatic aberrations can both be fixed in post. There is no image stabilization with this lens, but this can be easily solved by bringing a tripod along with you on your shoots. Wildlife photographers and anyone who appreciates having a lens with the ability to work in low light conditions will want to purchase this lens.
