Cantwell Urging Obama To Engage Canada On Safety Measures For Trans Mountain Pipeline

Canada’s recent approval of an expansion plan for the Trans Mountain Pipeline with a terminus in Vancouver BC is raising concerns in the Puget Sound region. U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) has written a letter to President Obama , asking him to intervene. She says there’s an increased risk of oil spills and a lack of necessary prevention and response technologies.
