Salesforce project complexity has evolved from basic administrator console (UX) based configuration in the early 2000s, through the addition of the Apex programming language, APIs, metadata packages, change sets, web services, callouts, Eclipse / Force.com IDE, SalesforceDX, Heroku and now to Evergreen.
