The Avalanche have once again played on Halloween and it was a terrifyingly good time. The team made sure that we got to enjoy our Halloween on a Saturday for the last time for the next 11 years. Time has seemingly skipped backwards as have the Avalanche but in a good way as we are starting to see the old Avalanche that we all know and love and more importantly are winning games. Unfortunately we still have to relive the game against the Predators and if you thought that was scary just wait until you hear the most terrifying thing of all… DOM’S HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR POWER RANKINGS! The NHL also only got scarier this week as one of the top three players in the league announced he wants a trade from out of nowhere beyond the grave. Finally, the most frightening thing of all, me admitting how great of a player Connor McDavid is. So get in your costumes one last time as we attempt to hold off the thawing of Mariah Carrie and enjoy this spooky season one last time on this week's episode of the Captain Avalanche Spookcast.

SPORTS. IS. PAIN. Pain is all we know, pain is all we will continue to know, we deserve pain, we will know pain, we must have pain. Being a sports fan is one of the worst punishments you can put on yourself as a human being. The highs are the absolute highest and the lows can truly not be lower. Stubbed your toe? Not as painful as being a sports fan. A family member ate the last donut? Not as painful. Wife left you? Not as painful. Didn’t achieve your dreams and now live in a sewer somewhere alone and without hope? Nowhere even close to being as painful as being a sports fan. It was not a good week being a fan of the two teams this show is primarily about and unfortunately the pain just continues and we are not even talking about what happened on Sunday. That’s right, for the first time in NHL HISTORY the Avalanche are undefeated in the month of September, the Sharks are also 2-0-0 (after almost being the exact opposite a couple of times). The Avalanche have already scored 14 goals in their first two games. The Sharks have more than just Celebrini scoring. Mackenzie Blackwood is an excellent goaltender and I will continue to not accept any slander on his name. Yaroslav Askarov MIGHT be a good goaltender and the Sharks season could be solely riding on his success and development. Speaking of Sharks, in the Tank with Dom RETURNS TODAY! We're back for Season 3! We, once again, have preseason divisional rankings and Dom ranked Chicago how high?
