Broke Car Snobs

Car slang, manufacturer acronyms (Ford = Found-On-Road-Dead), and a bunch of Top 10s we try to guess | BCS Ep S01E11

Listen Later

To start off, we wanted to wish you all a happy Memorial Day.  Grill up some burgers and dogs; take the car out for a spin! In the first half of this week's episode we contemplate the possibility that Ford has inadvertently created the next Pacifica.  Adam gives us an update on his B7 RS4 (some good news this time!) and Bruce's Mojave adventures take a turn for the worse.  Evolution (2001) is our car movie this week, and there's...  A lot to talk about there...?  Finally, Ford's electric F-150, the Lightning, and GMC's Hummer EV round out this half.

On to the second half, it's crazy one.  We get quizzed on popular car slang - from what a "sleeper" is to what it means to give your car "a dab of oppo."  Following that is manufacturer acronyms - Ford standing for "Found-On-Road-Dead" is a popular one, but can you think of any lesser known ones?  AJ gives us the lowdown.  Then we delve into an educational science segment, followed up by a discussion about ancient Rome.  No, you didn't misread that.  And lastly, the least and most reliable cars as of 2020, cars with awful fuel economy, and cars that are the most accident prone.  Think you can guess closer than we did?

Let's be real for a second, of course there's a Pacifica reference in this episode, we talked about it in the first half!
