Colin Eriksen has been the talk of the AGE Open Series since he began competing in 2024, and was swiftly scooped up by the AGE Pro Team shortly after their formation. He recently, however, has become the Flesh and Blood US National Champion which meant that it was about time for Bryce to get a teammate on the show. Colin tells all about his passion for the game, the difficult uncertainty of being a young person about to be on their own in the world, and the foundation of friends he's built to support him along the way. With the help of Colin, Bryce will also debut a new segment on the show, a C&B addendum in which Bryce and his guest will do battle in FAB while continuing the conversation right where it left off at the end of the episode. Go to www.age.events to check out the addendum as it will only be available to AGE Premium subscribers.Colin Eriksen Links: X: https://x.com/Colinputer00:00 Cold Open---------------------- Join Bryce Platz from Arcane Games and Events as he sits down for intimate conversations with the biggest names in the world of the Flesh and Blood Trading Card Game. Better yet, he will access the humanity of each of his guests in order to honor the three-dimensional people that they are, despite their passion for a game with two-dimensional pieces. This show is a product of Arcane Games and Events Website/Tickets: https://www.age.events #fabtcg #ageopen
Evan Herndon has just crossed a HUGE item off his bucket list. As of the completion of PT Yokohama, Evan is a Pro Tour Champion. This was his goal at the outset of his Flesh and Blood career and we're all wondering what he's going to do next (spoiler alert: it isn't Disneyland). In this episode, Bryce tries to uncover what has led to Evan's success and where his forward momentum will take him. It seemed high time to find a new goal for Evan, so Bryce will touch on that a bit too.Evan Herndon Links: X: https://x.com/emotionyoMetafy: https://metafy.gg/@evanherndon00:00 Cold Open---------------------- Join Bryce Platz from Arcane Games and Events as he sits down for intimate conversations with the biggest names in the world of the Flesh and Blood Trading Card Game. Simon Nielsen is one of the most renowned players in card games. Right now, his laurels mainly reside in Magic: The Gathering, but that hasn't stopped him from making a meaningful mark on Flesh and Blood. Simon is one of the founding members (and first captain) of what is now known as Team Super Armory. All members of the super team have commended Simon for his leadership during their first season together, which culminated in Pablo Pintor winning Pro Tour London. In this episode, Bryce attempts to tease out the finer points of TCG team creation from Simon along with the moments in which punctuality has been his biggest enemy.Simon Nielsen Links: X: https://x.com/MrChecklistcardBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/simonnielsenmtg.bsky.socialYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@SimonNielsenMTG00:00 Cold Open00:29 Intro02:34 Why Card Games?04:16 Distractions06:09 Stress of Being a Pro09:32 Simon Loves to Teach11:14 Background in Theatre15:49 A Supportive Family18:33 What would make you quit MTG?20:33 Team Armory Origins26:37 How did an MTG Pro Bring FAB Players Together?29:17 Simon's Early Days and their Influence31:18 Small Region Advantage?33:41 How did Everyone Sleep?37:46 Do Leaders Need to Sacrifice their own Needs?40:43 What's the Right Number of Players?42:49 Disseminating and Distilling Information48:08 The Myth of the Team Deck53:27 Still a New(ish) Leader56:39 Personal Disappointments from PT London?58:20 Is it harder to Win a PT in MTG or FAB?01:01:03 Worst Moments in Sleep01:06:07 Plugs and Outro---------------------- Join Bryce Platz from Arcane Games and Events as he sits down for intimate conversations with the biggest names in the world of the Flesh and Blood Trading Card Game. Pablo Pintor has accumulated increasingly impressive results in Flesh and Blood since he won the first ever Pro Tour in 2022. He's anything but a one-hit wonder. Most recently, he found himself in the finals at Calling: Toulouse piloting Arakni, Huntsman of all things. Nevertheless, Pablo remains one of the most humble and approachable people in the game. Even though he's well known in our community, his priorities are family, friends, and (of course) occasional libations.Join Pablo and Bryce as they discuss Pablo's continued wave of success, the people most important to him, and his "Beer Debts." This is one that is sure to leave you just a little bit better than before. Caleb Van Patten (or Majin Bae) has always been number one in the hearts of Flesh and Blood fanatics (wizard enjoyers or otherwise), but recently he has had a string of top finishes that command some serious respect. Despite his competitive gravitas, he remains humble and approachable. It's been a while, but Bryce is back on his podcast beat. This episode, he looked to Jacob Clements (one of FAB's 2025 All-Stars and member of Team Super Armory) to weigh in on the addition of LL into the '25 World Championships. Besides his deep knowledge and love of FAB, there's a lot to love about Jacob. He's got a self-deprecating humor about him, he's got opinions about pretty much everything, and he would insist that you're all his friends (you may just not know it yet).Jacob made us feel nothing but excitement about the main event of the 6th year of FAB. We hope it serves as the perfect thing to whet your appetite for Philadelphia as well. In this episode of Cardboard and Beyond, we gab with Rebecca Stoddard, the de facto queen of Flesh and Blood cosplay. In the “real” world, Rebecca works in banking. Despite having little love for her job, she recognizes it as the thing that facilitates what she really cares about: seeing the world, her hobbies, and the profoundly meaningful relationships she’s found along the way. Rachel also talks about the impact that cosplay and FAB have had on her life. She even clues us in on a costume that she’s been working on for some time but has yet to reveal.

In this episode of Cardboard and Beyond, we sit down with Joshua Scott, the Rules and Policy Manager at Legend Story Studios. With a background in computer science, a strategic mind sharpened by the game of Go, and a love for street art, Joshua brings a unique lens to the world of Flesh and Blood. We explore his journey into games, his carefully curated “boring” social media presence, and how all of it informs the way he approaches the rules that shape the game.Bryce and Joshua dive into the philosophy of policy, unpack some of the most notable rules updates in recent months, and even run through a live proofing session—where Joshua puts fictional card designs through the rigorous lens of the game’s framework. It’s a thoughtful look at the person behind the policy—and the principles that keep Flesh and Blood running smoothly.Joshua Scott Links:Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/jjscott.nz
