We are back and for Episode 17 we spend a good chunk discussing an "epic" Logan Paul appearance on the Treasure Trove podcast -- epic in the true sense of the words as its dangerously close to 3 hours long. We have plenty of other callbacks, discussions of markets, market manipulation, and the drawbacks of listening to influencers. Stick around for the episodic Bonkers reference and some frustrating Mastro content.‪@BecauseImCarlos‬ Links:Carlos Bonus Cynics Episode Last Week:   • Fanatics Discusses Plans on Sports Card No...  The "Cool Joe" short:   • Joe Montana’s game-worn jersey from Super ...  Marathon Logan Paul with Treasure Trove:   • Logan Paul on the Pikachu Illustrator Sale...  Logan Paul Invests in Goldin:https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...NEO on Pop Cult Market Boom:   • Pop Culture Cards Are EXPLODING in Value.  CGC lost Drew's Lincoln Card:   • RANT TIME: CGC Lost My Lincoln Card At The...  New ALT bounty:https://alt.xyz/itm/d7340097-dd43-45b...Felonious Photos:https://www.instagram.com/p/Dbx8b12EV...Bonkers Lectures an Audience of Millions:   • Sports Cards as an Alternative Asset Class  My Munson Video:   • Dan Acquires a Dream Card!  Steve Grad Authentication Service:https://gradcollection.com/authentica...Brian Gray Interviews Mastro - Breakdown by Carlos:   • Brian Gray interviews Bill Mastro | My Rea...  The Celebrini Winner:https://www.instagram.com/benjamin.be...Mentions:‪@LonelyBasementBaseballCards‬ ‪@leftyndv10‬ ‪@NEO_Cards_Comics‬ ‪@Sanderson2Orr‬ ‪@simon466cards‬ ‪@bobblesandballcards‬ Cardboard Cynics Podcast Feed:https://podcasts.apple.com/am/podcast...

After our foray into the livestream world, the Cardboard Cynics are back to the standard format show. We spend a large part of this episode revisiting the "Treasure Trove" podcast and discussing how these insidious grifters are now infiltrating the collectibles world and how artificially inflating markets is dangerous to all of us downstream. There are also some fun and funny segments discussed including the return of the "Voice of Vintage" in a new role, Rovell's continued ridiculousness, and a whole bunch of other callbacks, including Boston Card Hunter, Eric Michael, FTX, Logan Paul, Coffezilla, and Cllct. Shoutouts are also a plenty, including TiffanyCards, Scumbag Card Collection on IG, and as always, Auburn35.Mentions:‪@JunkWaxHero‬ ‪@TJ_Is_Online‬ ‪@Sanderson2Orr‬ LINKS:Treasure Trove Podcast Episode with Graham Stephan:   • Graham Stephan on the Future of Collectibl...  2016 Price Manipulation:   • 2016 Price Manipulation of the 1955 Robert...  Yotta Bank Crash:   • Youtuber Bank Wont Let You Withdraw Money  FTX lawsuit against Graham Stephan:https://static1.squarespace.com/stati...Those Who Cannot Remember the Past are Condemned to Repeat It:https://x.com/darrenrovell/status/207...Kid with $15 Million "Collection":  / da9ud-5ucef  Tiffany Cards Exposing Backyard Breaks FAKE Patch:https://x.com/tiffanycards/status/207...Boston Card Hunter vs Eric Michael:https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbG5VZ...Scumbag Card Collection on IG:https://www.instagram.com/scumbagcard...

This, my friends, is vintage Carlos -- going deep, telling tales, and finding the most entertaining cynical aspects of the "collectibles" industry. Other topics include "The Acceptance of Ignorance" "Vintage Tourists" "The Hobby Content Funnel" "Hobby Zen" "The History Guy" and "Shark Tank Knockoff". ‪@BecauseImCarlos‬ The Friday Night Live:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiaCgEaXNDinc57_4bJwWwA/streams/streams
