Brian Folmer is Founder and CEO of FirstLook, a subscription box designed to cut the friction and red-tape between consumer brand founders and early-stage investors.

Brian was on his way through college, when he saw an opportunity, sent a cold email and got himself into a small local startup accelerator.

“Any time you’re emailing a small company, they don’t have dedicated staff for hiring. It’s usually the office manager who’s stretching to figure it out. So it’s a lot easier to have those conversations, because they’re looking for a quick answer or a solution and they’re not looking to use too much time on it. So if you just present it in a way where, like ‘I’m what you’re looking for’ it really ups your odds of eventually landing the job.”
