This episode is so important for a number of reasons. Discovering a new career and purpose in one's 30s and continued evolution to ensure it works all along one's life trajectory. We celebrate discovery, movement, and flexibility in work. Jen Buice has a rare story of discovering her purpose & professional calling in the world of childbirth. A career rebirth. We also talk about continued career evolution and self-advocacy and empowerment in building one's own business. This conversation is key for people in various stages of life and work, no matter what profession because uncovering your career passion and purpose can happen anywhere, you just have to notice it.
Jen Buice has been supporting families as a childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and birth doula for 14 years in and around New York City. She came to this work after the births of her two children, which brought her to an understanding of the essential role of caring support and empowering education before, during, and after childbirth. Jen is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, committed to helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to feel prepared, confident, and respectfully supported as they bring their babies into the world. She teaches childbirth classes through Birth Day Presence, boober, and Evidence Based Birth®, both virtually and in person. Jen holds degrees from Bowdoin College and the University of Chicago, where she studied anthropology and education and would have explored the anthropology of childbirth had she known how fascinated by birth she would later become!
