Welcome to the 3rd Episode of Caregiver Diaries: Season 2!
Here is a story about an invisible warrior, who is a caregiver to her husband, who suffered from 2 heart attacks in the span of one year at the age of 39. Just like any of us, she also goes through low points emotionally, where she feels sad and stressed and questions everything. She realizes that accepting and making peace with the fact that your life does change drastically when you're in charge of someone's life and caring for them, helps a whole lot.
“I realized that you either get used to it or don't; we as caregivers need to try and get used to it because it gets easier to live life.”
Acceptance, understanding, and a whole lot of support from both sides of the family is what helps her through these tough times. Hear her talk about her ongoing experience and how accepting what life throws your way, goes a long way!

If you can identify with this story, please share it with others who care for someone and help them share too. The feeling of being understood, not being alone, and access to support is what keeps caregivers going.
Sharing your story helps understand yourself — feelings, passions, hopes. It lightens the load and offers relief from loneliness, anxiety, anger, or guilt. Our experiences and hopes can benefit others - to know that the challenges are the same, learn new ways to cope and care… they aren’t alone but part of a team.
