It's about how caregiving can affect you. It can feel like life is out of your control, after being tossed, off guard, into caregiving. It's important to focus on the reality of things and incorporate a plan for self-care. ****** A plan should support every area of your life. Daily self-care, establishing healthy boundaries and knowing your limits are crucial for approaching caregiving positively.
***** By not caring for yourself, you set a poor example for your family and place a burden of guilt on the care recipient. Love yourself in order to show love to others.*****
Remember to include yourself in the care you give by knowing your limits and strengths in caregiving.
