Have you ever thought, “How can anyone do this alone? There’s got to be a better way!” 

In this episode we’re talking with Mike George, a father, husband and caregiver, who shares how he and his wife recognized they had to create a way to support their son with disabilities and be there for their children and themselves. And that’s what they did! 

Over time, using their caregiver support formula, they’ve grown Ben’s support team to a group of six employed professionals who allow all members of the family to do more than just exist but to experience a true quality of life! 

The sisters talk with Mike about how he helps family caregivers go from feeling alone, fearful, and uncertain to becoming confident, empowered champions. He knows the road well… He has been a caregiver for 30 years. 

His caregiving journey began in June of 1992, with the birth of his third child, Ben. An hour after he was born, Mike and his wife were told Ben was very sick and may not live the day. 

BUT Spoiler alert - BEN did survive and learn to walk with lots of support. He uses a communication device to speak, and in 2019 became a university graduate..
