Carl Torarp is the Founder/Chairman/CEO of LocaLoop, and co-inventor of its cloud based enabling business technology for 4G Mobile WiMAX/LTE and other broadband wireless access systems (4 issued patents). The Company was incorporated in September 2005 with the vision of providing a turnkey wireless fixed and mobile broadband Internet solution that could quickly achieve profitability in rural markets, and do so at an affordable price for users at homes, at work and " on-the-go. " Carl is a global high tech industry veteran with over 30 years experience in the computer and the telecom industry. Prior to starting LocaLoop, he was working with emerging technology companies, assisting them both as a venture development consultant and technology investment banker since he moved to Minnesota from Sweden 19 years ago. Prior to moving to Minnesota, Carl had a successful corporate career in the computer industry in various capacities ranging from engineering to senior international management in field service sales and marketing, information services, operations and general management with a number of companies including International Computer Limited (ICL), Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), and NCR Corporation where he worked mostly in European countries. Carl has managed organizations with full profit & loss responsibilities at the branch, district, region and country levels. Thirteen years ago Carl co-founded a broadband wireless technology company Azent AB (now focused on Telematics and M2M Internet communication over wireless networks) and a pre-WiMAX broadband Internet service provider located in Sweden. Both companies were sold. Mr. Torarp is an Electrical Engineer and studied Computer Science at a joint program between SAAB and Linkoping University. Carl is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Education Program at Harvard Business School in Boston.
