A person who creates art, a person who is skilled at drawing, painting, and so forth.  A person who engages in any form of artistic creation or practice.  An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creative art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art.  The common usage in both everyday speech and academic discourse refers to a practitioner in the visual arts only.  This describes my next special guest.  I say that she is special as she is a retired nurse that pursued her dream with vigor much later in life.  Nonetheless she is quite an artist with a unique style, self taught and she is doing the doggone thang.  This goes to show you you are never too old to pursue your dreams.
