Jesperi Kotkaniemi opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the opening period winning a couple of net-front battles en route to his 4th goal of the year. Staal and Teuvo Teravainen would score twice in a 2:04 span of the 2nd period, the latter coming while shorthanded, as Carolina led 3-0 after 40 minutes. Stefan Noesen's 6th of the season, late in the 3rd period closed out the scoring. Canes will next play on Thursday in Pittsburgh.
