On April 5, 1974, a little novel named Carrie by an unknown author named

Stephen King was unleashed on an unsuspecting public. Fifty years

later, the book has been adapted multiple times, is still in print, has

been translated into multiple languages, and has seared itself into the

public consciousness, helping turn Stephen King into a household name in

the process.
