David hasn't been the king of Israel for long and he asks a startling question, a question that was anything but customary; "Is there anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness...?" David is told of a grandson that is still alive, but he is lame in both feet. David's actions speak volumes and it is great symbolism for us today. In the end, we'll discover, that we were just like Mephibosheth before our King, Jesus, came and sought us out, and carried us to the table where we didn't belong!
