I don't know about you but sometimes I really don't feel like cooking dinner, after a big day or with a whiney 3 year old at my feet. But freezer food has a bit of a bad rep, it's usually nothing gourmet and we all know how bad freezer-burn can be.

Enter today's guests – Melissa and Jason from Cartel Food Co. With a love of Mexican food from a childhood living in Southern California, these high school sweethearts started Cartel Food Co 5 years ago, to bring their foodie passion to the frozen food aisle.

Since their beginnings personally hand-rolling 12000 burritos from their base in the Wairarapa, now these guys have seen 550% growth and have sold over half a million burritos. Not bad at all for a stagnant freezer category huh!
