October 15, 1985. The detonation of a pipe bomb in downtown Salt Lake City kills a man and sends the area into a panic. A few hours later, a second pipe bomb explodes in the city suburbs, bringing the death toll up to two. The following day, a third bomb explodes inside a car—the driver missing death by inches.
