In this episode, we explore how a leading American logistics company partnered with Datamatics to enhance their customer onboarding experience through the development of a modern, cloud-native application hosted on Microsoft Azure. The client faced challenges with manual, paper-intensive onboarding processes that led to delays and inefficiencies, impacting both employee productivity and customer satisfaction. To address these issues, Datamatics modernized the customer onboarding application using Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, implementing a cloud-native architecture hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance. Integration with existing AS400 and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) systems was achieved through Azure API Management (APIM), enabling real-time updates of customer data and streamlined operational workflows. Enhanced security measures, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) via Azure Entra ID and data encryption both in transit and at rest, were implemented to protect sensitive customer information. This modernization resulted in a 99.6% system availability, faster customer onboarding processes, and improved compliance and security, leading to a smoother onboarding experience and real-time insights for better decision-making
