Sometimes an organization can get a Golden Goose - a Corporation or Foundation that donates/contributes enough money to keep the organization afloat. This can cause the organization to become comfortable or complacent. This will sometimes prevent them from seeking out other sources of revenue, donations, grants, earned income, etc. Eventually, they will lose this donor/sponsor and the organization will find itself in dire straits.
