Casey: Pleasant Persistence and Diligence Follow Up

Listen Later

Diligent follow-up and follow-through will set you apart from the crowd and communicate excellence!  -John Maxwell aka: Grandpa John

Here are my tips for creating a dialog for multiple reach outs. In a snapshot here is my flow:

  1. First Attempt:  Reach out with pleasantness, and let her know if you don’t hear back from her, you know how busy life is and you will reach back out in a few days
  2. Second Attempt: Reach out again, restate the benefits to her of what you have to offer. Let her know again, if you don’t hear  back you can just try back “on the weekend” or “during an evening” if that’s better.
  3. Third Attempt: Reach out again, with a smile and total empathy for how busy she might be. Let her know you will try again, but then restate, if this is something she really doesn’t want to do, just to call or text back and let you know. It’s ok. Let her off the hook with love.
  4. Fourth Attempt: Reach back out again and let her know  you’ll try back in a few months - ex: “I know winter is a bit crazy. If I don’t hear back I will just reach back out to you in the springtime.”
  5. Make your messages warm, friendly and loving!  Work on your voice and your energy before you start making contacts. Do not bring any negative feelings into the conversation. Realize it’s not about you! :)  Transfer your fear into excitement.  Visualize making a connection. People won’t remember what you said, they will remember how you made them feel!
