Isabel Wilkerson is an American writer and the first African American woman to win a Pulitzer prize. She was also presented with the National Humanities Medal by President Barack Obama, and she is considered a leading figure in narrative nonfiction. She’s also the author of The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration, published in 2010
