There is an ancient proverb that says we didn’t come here to teach our kids, we came here to love them; love will teach them.
To help with that understanding, all day long today, think about what it is you love about your kids. When they start to challenge you and you feel your voice rising or feel like you’d like to stomp your feet and pull your hair out, think of why you love them. That doesn’t mean they don’t need correction or consequences which knocks the entitlement we put in there—right out of them, it means that we catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
