Catchers' Hall of Fame Standard Under Debate and Stan Coveleski Career No Time to Stagnate

Listen Later

This week we discuss the different standard for Catchers to enter the HOF versus other position players. Is it fair that those in the crouch can put up lower hitting numbers or does it feel right for their workload? For our This Week In Baseball, we discuss the unique Tri-Cornered Baseball Game from 1944. Three teams play in a round robin format to raise money for the war effort, but could something like this happen today?

Our Hall of Famer this week is Stan Conveleski. He brings really good numbers in a short amount of time, but was it good enough for the three of us to keep him in? For our parting shots we speak on the life of Effa Manley, the majesty of the Perfect Game, and the ups and downs of collecting for "The Hobby".

Enjoy our new crop of weekly commercials in between segments with USPS Baseball Stamps, Roger Maris' for cereal, and Cal Ripken for the Yellow Pages.

Please join us as we discuss baseball topics and we continue our mission to make The Hall small. We hope you'll enjoy the ride.
