Anthony Trudel is an experienced educational leader who has served as Principal of Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan, since August 2021, bringing more than two decades of experience in Catholic and Jesuit secondary education to his role. Prior to Divine Child, he spent over ten years as Principal of University of Detroit Jesuit High School Academy, where he was recognized for building a mission-driven, inclusive school culture grounded in Ignatian values, particularly cura personalis, or care for the whole person. His leadership accomplishments include significantly reducing student and staff attrition, expanding academic intervention programs, increasing student achievement on standardized assessments, diversifying faculty and administration, and guiding the school successfully through COVID-19 planning and blended instruction with no loss of enrollment or on-campus transmission.Earlier in his career, Mr. Trudel served as Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, Science Department Chair, and classroom teacher, where he earned recognition for instructional excellence and innovative curriculum design. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Wayne State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Adrian College, and completed graduate work in Biochemistry at Indiana University. His scholarly work on problem-based learning was presented internationally and published in the Journal of Classroom Interaction. Mr. Trudel has also completed the Jesuit Secondary Education Association’s Seminars in Ignatian Leadership and served as a facilitator for the program, and he has pursued formal administrative training through the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals’ Path to Leadership Program.
