Catholic Schools Week: Lansing Catholic High School

Listen Later

Fr. Joseph Campbell is the Chaplain and Dean of Spiritual Formation at Lansing Catholic High School.

“By the grace of God I was ordained a priest on June 10th, 2017. My first assignment was as the Parochial Vicar (associate pastor) at St. Patrick Parish in Brighton. I served there for four years and got my first real taste of parish ministry as a priest. In July of 2021, I left St Patrick and started a new assignment as the full-time chaplain at Lansing Catholic High School. I am now finishing my 5th year and have had a great experience serving with the staff and faculty here. It is such a joy and a privilege to be with the students and help form them into disciples of Jesus. During my time as chaplain, I have not had a Sunday parish assignment. This flexibility has allowed me to help cover Masses all over the diocese on Sundays wherever there is the need.

In July of 2026, I will end my assignment at Lansing Catholic High School and will begin serving as an active-duty chaplain in the US Navy. I will have training in Newport, Rhode Island for several months and will be deployed sometime in early December of 2026.”
