Acts 15:36–41 and Acts 16:1–15 marks the dramatic split between Paul and Barnabas and the launch of Paul's second missionary journey.

Acts 15:1–35 describes the Jerusalem Council, a pivotal turning point in the early Church that established that salvation is by grace through faith alone, freeing Gentile converts from the obligation of following Jewish law.

The final chapter of Jonah focuses on Jonah’s intense anger at God's mercy after the city of Nineveh repents and escapes destruction, concluding the book with a powerful lesson on divine compassion.

Jonah's second chance leads him to declare impending judgment, prompting an immediate and total repentance from the citizens of Nineveh, including the king and livestock. In response to their genuine change of heart and behaviour, God relents and shows mercy, highlighting the chapter's theme of God’s grace and the power of a simple warning.

After being thrown overboard by sailors to calm a divine storm in Chapter 1, Jonah is swallowed by a massive sea creature sent by God. Trapped inside the fish for three days and three nights, the narrative pauses its fast-paced action to focus entirely on Jonah’s poetic prayer.

Way down in the middle of the ocean...

God tells the prophet Jonah to go to the wicked city of Nineveh to preach against it. Jonah refuses and boards a ship heading in the opposite direction to Tarshish. God sends a violent storm, Jonah is identified by lot, and the sailors throw him into the sea, where a giant fish swallows him

In Acts 12: 1-19 we learn about how King Herod put Peter in a tight spot. He chained him to two guards in a dark cell. Guards watched the door. Then, an angel woke Peter up. His heavy chains fell off. They walked right past the guards. The massive iron gate opened all by itself. Peter was free!

In Acts 10-11:18, Peter learns that God's salvation is for everyone, not just the Jewish people. An angel tells a Roman man named Cornelius to send for Peter. Meanwhile, God gives Peter a vision of unclean animals, telling him to eat. God means for Peter to stop treating Gentiles (non-Jews) as outcasts. Peter preaches to Cornelius's household, the Holy Spirit falls on them, and Peter baptizes them.

In Acts 9:32-43, the Apostle Peter performs two powerful miracles that expand the early church's reach. He heals Aeneas, a paralyzed man in Lydda, and raises a devoted disciple named Tabitha (Dorcas) from the dead in Joppa. Both miraculous acts bring glory to Jesus, leading many in the region to convert to Christianity

Acts 9:1-31 details the miraculous conversion of Saul, the church's fiercest persecutor. Struck blind by the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus, he is healed by Ananias, baptized, and immediately begins preaching that Jesus is the Son of God, shifting from persecutor to the Apostle to the Gentiles
