False teachers don’t appear false in the first glance, but close examination reveals their deception. We are never to assume every spiritual experience or every demonstration of spiritual power is from God.

God had special reason to be displeased with Solomon — He had appeared to him twice, and Solomon still went after other gods. Consequently, God was going to allow division and disintegration.

Even in this great judgment, God mingles in mercy.

When we think of Solomon’s great wealth, we also consider that he originally did not set his heart upon riches. He deliberately asked for wisdom to lead the people of God instead of riches or fame.

God’s love is abundant, but not passive to overlook sin and wickedness. He loves in granting our requests and He also loves by disciplining us when we stray.

Just as the glory of God filled the Temple, the Spirit of God should fill us.

“Being filled with the Holy Spirit is the willful giving the control of one’s life to God. It is a continuous, daily submission to (listening and doing) the Word of God.”
