Verse of the day: 1 Chronicles 19:13
Be courageous! Let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. May the Lord’s will be done.
Let’s jump right into it.
Saul Alinsky wrote in 1971 his Rules for Radicals. I detailed all of his rules in episode 001. Now I will give you the full rundown on the first rule.
The first rule of power tactics: Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.
Any time you are trying to influence people and are using Rule for Radical Number 1, you’re using deception and threats to achieve your objective. There are a number of ways to “appear” to have more power than you actually have. If you look at advertising today, you’ll see broad examples of this.
Advertising:
Advertising uses people who are paid to read a script. I’d say mostly those people do you use the products they are pitching. The aim is convincing you that person does in hope you will also purchase and use the product.
Political polling:
How many elections have you seen polls claiming a liberal candidate is winning over a Republican? A Conservative? A Christian Candidate? The closer a candidate gets to Christian Status, the wider the margin against them is reported much wider, regardless of the reality. They do this by often by under-polling the side they don’t want to win. Yes, using deception.
Media Influence:
The Media perpetuates lies, deception, fake news by ignoring news which runs counter to their opinion. Our president recently gave fake news awards to the media. CNN received a few of them. MSNBC wasn’t mentioned, probably because nobody watches their network anyway, but continued to push anti-Trump/anti-conservative agendas. New York Times summarized Trumps awards (listed below). The Bias in the media is clear. Note the differences between how the mainstream media covered Presidents Obama and Trump. Clearly there is a tremendous difference— AKA Bias.
The New York Times’ Paul Krugman claiming markets would ‘never’ recover from a Trump presidency
ABC News' Brian Ross’ bungled report on former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn
CNN falsely reporting the Trump campaign had early access to hacked documents from WikiLeaks
TIME report that Trump removed a bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. from the Oval Office
The Washington Post’s Dave Weigel tweeting that Trump’s December rally in Pensacola, Fla., wasn’t packed with supporters
CNN’s video suggesting Trump overfed fish during a visit with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
CNN’s retracted report claiming Anthony Scaramucci-Russia ties
Newsweek report that Polish First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda did not shake Trump’s hand
CNN report that former FBI Director James Comey would dispute President Trump’s claim he was told he was not under investigation
The New York Times report that the Trump administration had hidden a climate-change study
In Trump’s words, "‘RUSSIA COLLUSION!’ Russian collusion is perhaps the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!”
Schoolyard Bully:
Can you think of a time when you or your children were in school dealing with a bully? I can recall a time in my life dealing with bullies...
