Theme Music
As mentioned in the show, the first 22 episodes of the series used the song “Defeat Galactor” (aka Shupa, shupa, shupa) as the intro and Gatchaman’s Theme (aka “Dare da, dare da, dare da) as the closing theme. I found videos of these themes.

Just for fun, I found a longer version of Gatchaman’s song on You Tube.

Here’s a heavy metal version of the Gatchaman theme.
Even if heavy metal isn’t your thing, you have to admit it’s kind of cool to hear the audience singing along. This band also does metal covers of other classic anime theme songs.

And Finally…
Someone took the time to compile all the intros for Gatchaman, Gatchaman II, Battle of the Planets, G-Force: Guardians of Space, and Eagle Riders.

Fun Fact (If you didn’t already know this): The singer of the theme songs for Gatchaman II and Gatchaman Fighter is the same man who does the voice of Joe the Condor (G-2) in the original Japanese version, Isao Sasaki.
