Methodology notes:
I searched the hg38 BAM file at chr3:46373450-46373488 (samtools view) for the deletion of GTCAGTATCAATTCTGGAAGAATTTCCAGACA. Reads contained the full sequence. I included a search for sequences with concatenated flanking nucleotides (indicating the deletion) but did not find any. I also searched unmapped reads. This strongly indicated that I am homozygous for the intact CCR5.
