Hi everyone! This one really has been a long time coming, but I finally managed to convice Cecilly Day to be on the podcast!
She and I have known each other since way back in 2008, and even though we lost connection there in the middle for a bit, I still consider her one of my absolute closest friends in the world. On this podcast we talked about so many topics, from the University of Victoria and their great rabbit purge all the way through to systemic racism and its omnipresence in society and theatre today, and everything in between.
Needless to say, this one really hit me, especially on the heels of hosting the diversity panel a couple of weeks ago. We as a people still have a long way to go.
I don’t want to say too much more, so take a listen and don’t forget to go see Cecilly’s show “BLACK-ish?” at the Impromptu Cabaret Festival Friday which runs on June 29 @ 7:30pm and Saturday June 30 @ 6:00pm.
