On this day in 1967 Denny Hulme becomes first New Zealander to win the F1 World Drivers Championship, claiming the title by a five-point margin from Australian champion teammate Jack Brabham. Michael Schumacher also won his third title on this day in 2000, and Fernando Alonso his second in 2006.
