Cellist Tomeka Reid has been one of the brightest lights in Chicago’s world-famous creative music scene for 20 years. In addition to playing, composing and teaching, Reid put together the Chicago Jazz String Summit, which brings together some of the world’s best players on cello, harp, violin and more — instruments not normally associated with jazz.

Reset talks to Reid about her career and the upcoming 7th annual Summit, which is free to stream from April 30 to May 1. Donations are accepted.
