STEM Blitz - DataBlitz

Cellular cartography (STEM Blitz March 2015)

Listen Later

Cells recognise the environment using a set of protein molecules called cell surface receptors. In about 30% of cancers receptors are faulty and send growth signals into the cells that cause cells to grow out of control. By combining physics with biology we are learning about the mechanism of activation of these receptors and what goes wrong in cancer. Recorded on 13 March 2015.
