Ireland, St. Patrick and the Catholic faith are inextricably linked. Together they are rooted deep in the history of christian civilisation across the world. St. Patrick is one of the most celebrated of saints - and yet few really know of the real Patrick - about his struggles and his heroic faith. Fr Feargal McGrady was born in Downpatrick, reputed to be the final resting place of St Patrick himself. He was ordained in St Patrick’s Parish Church in that ancient town. He spoke to Celtic Connections about his life long affection for the saint - and about what he would say to us in our troubled times today.
